Fence Work Day
Unloading Fence 003 Unloading 001 Unloading Fence 006
Just getting everything ready for fence day was hard work.  Several volunteers helped unload and stage all the fence (nearly 7 tons worth) when it arrived.

Before Mike and the Mighty Bobcat Supervising
Arriving bright and early on Fence Day, the group enthusiastically tore down the old fence in record time.  Mike and the Bobcat pitched in for some of the really big jobs.

Once the old fence was down, the group levelled the ground (with a nice, previously clean truck), sent the debris to the dump and moved two exceptionally large trees out of the way, leaving a whole lot of open space to fill.

The new fence went together like lego peices...Well, not quite.  But by mid-afternoon, all the paddocks were ready.

The horses were very happy to get into their new homes.  Although there are no pictures of it, many of the horses ran around jumping for joy when they got into their cleaned up, spacious paddocks.

Although tired, the team still had spirit, and pushed on to complete the new riding arena before sunset.

Total for the day:

1/4 mile of old wire fence removed

1 acre cleared and graded

1/4 mile of panel fence assembled (7 tons worth)

7 paddocks and a new arena built.

All in under 10 hours.  Way to go!
