Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawai'i recovered their stolen Kubota RTV on Christmas eve. An anonymous person located and returned the vehicle in good running condition (aside from a missing ignition). We are unbelievably grateful to have this vital piece of equipment returned to our non-profit.

Mahalo to the the person(s) who took a huge risk by returning the vehicle. Thank you Kathy Muneno at Khon2 news for doing a great piece on the six o'clock news. Blessings on your sheep and cattle. Thank you Chuck and Libby at Circle C Equestrian Facility. Chuck was the first guy to jump in his tractor and start hunting the back roads. But most of all, a huge Mahalo to the community of Waimanalo. This is a tight community of small business' scratching to get by like everyone else. Thank you for putting up flyers and helping us spread the word: Waimanalo Feed Supply, Shima's Market, L&L, Waimanalo Pharmacy, Ken's and Keneke's, Big Country Bar and Grill, Waimanlo Laundromat, Tersty Treats Fish Market, Bobby's Market, Waimanalo Refuse Center, Bellows Air Force Base, Rocky Road Eggs, Sharon's Plants, All Tree Service, Mel's Market, Sweet Home Waimanalo, Hardware Hawai'i Kailua, and the countless other farms, nursery's, ranches, and residents who are the life blood of this community.

May you all be safe and happy this new year. Mahalo.

Today in the mail: A $1000.00 donation from someone I do not know and a $15 donation that included a blank "Notice of Karma Violation" form for me to complete for the jerks who stole all our stuff. Both incredibly valuable and both amazing!!! Thanks thanks thanks for all of the support!

Thanks so much to everyone for watching and reposting our news story. No word about the Kubota yet, but I'm pretty sure we made it the hottest stolen item in town. Keep fingers crossed. In the meantime, we are using the momentum to get things done and keep moving forward.

For the past several weeks, arriving for work at the Waimanalo Polo field has begun with a check of what might have gone missing during the night for Executive Director Dana Vennen. Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii has called the polo field home since 2000, but a string of recent buglaries has left the nonprofit and the polo club stunned.

"In the past few months, our projector has been stolen and an expensive camera owned by one of our instructors that we were using to take Christmas photos of the kids" said Vennen. "They also stole the Polo Clubhouse generator that we use for polo matches and our fundraising event."

Other items that have gone missing are power tools and other equipment. And finally, on Sunday morning, the nonprofit's Kubota RTV was missing. Tracks lead over the back of the field, down a streambed and out to the road.

The Waimanalo nonprofit, Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii has owned the farm vehicle since 2008 when it was purchased with grant funding from the Gift Foundation.

"We used it daily for the care of our horses and maintenance of the facility," said Vennen. "We sure can't afford to buy another one, and I don't know what we are going to do without it."

Maintaining the programs 10 therapy horses and other animals is a major undertaking and the Kubota vehicle was a big help with that. The program has filed numerous police reports and flyers for their missing machine. The program is desperate for help in getting the vehicle back. The are pretty sure it's still in Waimanalo somewhere.

Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been improving the lives of individuals in Hawaii since 1983. The program is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) Premier Accredited therapeutic riding program and has been using its horses and other animals to work with kids and adults to improve their minds and bodies. The program works with hundreds of children and adults with special needs, as well as soldiers returning from overseas and many other individuals.
